The end of 2011 was full of anticipation and celebration as we awaited the results of soil samples on the hill we are planning to transform into our ministries center, held our third annual Christmas outreach to people who had used our food pantry this year and celebrated the birth of Jesus through a retelling of the Christmas story, singing and worship.

In a city where taking chances is the order of the day, one Las Vegas school is doing no such thing. Lamb of God Lutheran does not gamble with its students’ educations, or the best way to promote its school in the community.
Using LCEF’s Project School Zone marketing resources, Lamb of God held an open house in January that was well-attended. Leaders expect to add five to 10 new students to its enrollment.

Ready, set...wait...go! That’s how the preschool startup has been at St. John Lutheran, Waverly, Iowa. But the "wait" part spanned 30 years. Funded by an LCEF loan in 1981, the congregation added a wing to its church. Now, members have a preschool and are expanding it next fall to include a pre-kindergarten program. "People started applying the day after the congregation approved it," said trustee Jim Sullivan.
