For LCMS Congregational Cemetery Funds

These investment dollars are designated for the improvement, maintenance, management, control and long-term operation of a congregation’s cemetery. The Cemetery Perpetual Care StewardAccount offers easy access to the invested funds and pays competitive market rates.

It offers free check writing, optional VISA® ATM/ Check Card and Electronic Funds Transfers*, and check card transactions.

An application and Offering Circular are available.

Free Check-Writing Privileges
Interest-Bearing Investment
  • Initial quantity of checks provided FREE; replacement orders competitively priced.
  • Minimum amount per check is $250.
  • Unlimited number of checks per month.
  • Cancelled checks truncated and held by UMB Bank for safekeeping.
  • $1,000 minimum investment to open account.
  • Interest compounded and paid monthly at month end.
  • Tiered interest rates that rise as your balance grows; comparable to money markets.
    • Tier 1 = Less than $25,000
    • Tier 2 = $25,000 - $49,999
    • Tier 3 = $50,000 - $99,999
    • Tier 4 = $100,000 or more
  • Variable interest rates adjusted monthly.
  • No monthly maintenance or membership fees.
  • Fees may be charged for customer-initiated special service requests.
VISA ATM/Check Card (optional)
  • ATM/Check card (no line of credit).
  • No LCEF or VISA usage or maintenance fees; retailers and ATM owners may assess usage fees.
  • Special ministry revenue is generated on product purchases that do not involve entering a Personal Identification Number, (PIN).
Electronic Funds Transfer (optional)
  • Electronic investment and payment options.
  • Investor-initiated service.
  • No charge transfer of funds to or from LCEF StewardAccount.

Note: The Cemetery Perpetual Care StewardAccount is not available to congregations in South Carolina or Louisiana, per the state’s offering circular.
